When you give to the Y, you continue to strengthen our community and move us all forward. As the nation's leading nonprofit for youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the Y uses your gift to make a meaningful, enduring impact right in your own neighborhood.
Now more than ever, kids and families are turning to the YMCA for assistance. Support in the fight against obesity and providing a place for kids of all ages to play are just a few of the many ways the YMCA helps families. No matter the reason, YMCA services and programs are available to people of all ages and physical ability, regardless of their ability to pay. The YMCA has always helped families and children access the Y's facilities and programs but now more than ever, families are requesting financial assistance during these troubled economic times.
The YMCA Partner with Youth campaign allows the YMCA to provide financial assistance for memberships, youth programs, and camping experiences throughout the year. All of the money raised during the campaign stays here in our community to help strengthen our families and community. In 2010, members, volunteers, area businesses and staff members donated more than $346,000 to the Partner with Youth campaign that provided nearly 8,200 individuals the opportunity to receive some type of scholarship assistance for memberships and programs.
This year, we raised our goal to $375,000 because now more than ever, children and families need the YMCA. We invite you to donate to the Partner with Youth campaign so that all kids and families in our community can experience the YMCA.
