The rain clouds surely didn’t darken the spirit of those in attendance, as the highlight of the event was the dinner and program that wrapped up the day. Doug Bosley and the Spring Meadows staff put out an impressive dinner spread that pleased the appetites of all in attendance. Dick Skaff said that, “the food was the best it has been in the history of the event.” This certainly was the case, and set the tone for the post dinner program. Some highlights of the program included: The Woody Skaff Sportsmanship award being presented to George Stewart for his long commitment to the annual event, the Skaff family and to the YMCA of Greater Flint. Event winners were announced and recognition was given to all who helped in making this year’s event a success. Also, every golfer in attendance walked away with a great door prize. Prizes ranged from certificates to area golf courses, restaurants and other local attractions. King Par was once again a major sponsor of the event, designating over $3,700 worth of items to the event. Thanks to all those who supported this wonderful event, the YMCA of Greater Flint raised over $6,600 dollars! Proceeds from the event go toward the Woody Skaff Scholarship Fund as well as the Partner with Youth Campaign.
Planning is already underway for next year’s Golf Scramble which will be held at Spring Meadows Country Club on Monday, June 21, 2010. Save the date and plan on attending next years event and help support YMCA youth programs.
